This teaching guide gives environmental education ideas for grades K-12. The field trips and activities all relate to the Hayward shoreline of the San Francisco, California, Bay. Included in the guide are 44 science activities, 15 social science activities, and 18 humanities activities. Each activity description gives the experience level, site location, conceptual theme, background information, behavioral objectives, suggested pre-trip activities, on-site activities, follow-up activities, equipment, vocabulary, and references. An appendix to the guide includes a list of visual aids, and such ecological information as descriptions of birds, mammals, plants, geology, meteorology, and tides and currents. (BB)
