Evaluation of the Multiple Careers Magnet and Assessment Centers at William B. Carrell, 1978-79.
Maples, Wayne; And Others
The report evaluates Texas' Multiple Careers Magnet Center (MCMC), a part time program to provide special education secondary students with career training. It is explained that students enter one of six career education clusters: furniture repair and upholstery, general construction trades, building and grounds maintenance, laundry and dry cleaning, and home and community services. Results focus on the MCMC student body (demographic information); faculty demographics; curricular experiences (cluster activities for the six occupational areas); transportation arrangements; quality of student individualized education programs; student, parent, and faculty attitudes toward the MCMC; and student academic achievement. Attitudes of families, faculty, and students toward the program were highly favorable. (CL)
