These technical appendices are intended to accompany the study, "Low-Income Students and School Meal Programs in California." Two appendices are included. Appendix A provides tables detailing: (1) the variables included in the main models and the datasets(s) used to construct each; (2) observations in each dataset and categorizes them into public schools, charter schools and "other," (3) descriptive statistics for continuous variables; (4) descriptive counts of the categorical variables included in the preferred models; (5) correlations between poverty and other demographic, school and district characteristics; and (6) distribution of school and district total student enrollments. Appendix B provides detailed tabular data on: (1) preferred model estimates; (2) model selection, share of students certified for free and reduced price meals; (3) model selection, lunch participation among low-income, certified students; (4) sample selection, share of students certified for free and reduced price meals; (5) sample selection, lunch participation among low-income, certified students; and (6) grade-level models, share disadvantaged students.
