This report presents the results of a survey to determine the loss levels of library materials at high school media centers and libraries in the Onondaga-Oswego County area of central New York State, and provides an annotated bibliography of literature dealing with loss prevention in libraries. A copy of the questionnaire and various analysis sheets are included. The survey provided data concerning school enrollment, facilities, seating capacities, the number of supervisors, book detection systems, elementary scheduling, access at the high schools, shelving of audiovisual collections, overdues, lost items, replacement percentages, and the percentage of losses to total collections.
