Intention in School Choice among Finnish Parents
Raty, Hannu
Educational Studies, v39 n2 p219-222 2013
The study explored Finnish parents' intention in making school choices and the relationship of those intentions to demographic and attitudinal factors. It was found that the great majority of parents had not seriously considered choosing a school other than the neighbouring one. Parents living in urban areas, or those supporting a selective educational policy, or having higher education showed greater interest, while those living in rural areas, or those opposing selectiveness, or having lower education showed less interest.
