Publishing literature in translation in the United States is, generally, a fool's game. Publishing literature in translation for young readers is lunatic. The sad fact is that very few publishers are commissioning translations because they tend to be expensive, time-consuming, and unsuccessful in the marketplace. This article discusses the authors' view and the reasons he continues to publish books in translation. The article contains a list of notable books in translation.
