A taxonomy and a list of 108 verbs and their synonyms were compiled as first steps in developing a common language for describing the content of business and office education. By synthesizing the initial data, 57 principal verbs and their 162 synonyms proved adequate for describing 4,548 office tasks. Educational implications will be discussed in the next issue. (CH)
