By applying just-in-time philosophy to today's school libraries, librarians can fulfill the role of program administrator by continuing to provide the resources students and faculty deserve, exactly at their individual points of need. Just-in-time librarianship is a mindset that could prove unsettling for some school librarians. The main facets of just-in-time librarianship involve issues that will not go away: funding and a degree of flexible scheduling. Thoughts of temporary collections and routine academic library visits may seem daunting, but rest assured the payoff is worth it. Just-in-time can be made to work for the school library in a variety of ways, but some of the experiences the author has had can be replicated without causing emotional distress.
