College students (n=296) with no suicidal ideation, mild ideation, severe ideation, or having attempted suicide, completed Reasons for Living Inventory, instrument for age-specific coping cognitions, and scale of coping strategies for diminishing suicidality. Found patterns of similarities and differences in coping mechanisms among four ideation groups. (Author/NB)
