This book contains two versions of the Language Aptitude Test. It is part of a package of materials developed for use in an English for Special Purposes project, which offers classes in reading, grammar, and emergency care attendant training for limited English proficient students. Introductory material describes the parts of two versions and describes the development of the tests. The first version of the test consists of 119 items: orthographic clues (50 items), words in sentences (45 items), and word association (24 items). The orthographic clues section is intended to prove the student's ability to recognize misspelled words. The words in sentences part intends to measure the student's ability to recognize the function of different parts of speech. In the final part of the test, the student is required to learn German words. The second version of the test is reduced to 50 items: part 1 consists of 16 items, part 2 of 16, and part 3 of 18.
