This manual, intended primarily for use by preservation supervisors, includes a discussion of basic leather preservation techniques, and a description of the entire leather book preservation program at Olin Library, Cornell University. Discussions of work flow, materials, treatment steps, schedulinq, and recruiting student assistants are included. Basic procedures which include selection, dusting, salting, and oiling are also discussed. A selected bibliography on leather binding preservation is appended. (MBR)
