Focusing on how computers can and should be used in intercollegiate forensics, this journal issue offers the perspectives of a number of forensics instructors. The lead article, "Applications of Computer Technology in Intercollegiate Debate" by Theodore F. Sheckels, Jr., discusses five areas in which forensics educators might use computer technology: (1) computer assisted instruction, (2) text preparation, (3) program management, (4) research, and (5) evidence filing. The remaining articles, by Melissa Maxcy Wade, John Morello, Sharon Porter, Barbara F. Shreve-Sims, and Warren Decker, are replies to Sheckels's article, pointing to possible drawbacks in computer use as well expanding upon his suggested applications. (FL)
