Basic Writing Skills. A Sequential, Objective-Based Program for Use in Adult Basic Education and GED Preparation Classes.
Keeler, Sandy
This guide is intended for use in helping students master the language arts skills necessary to pass the writing skills portion of the General Educational Development examination. It could also be used in adult basic education classes. The following topics are covered in the individual units: capitalization, punctuation, verb tense, subject-verb agreement, pronouns, troublesome words, correct use of adjectives and adverbs, comparison of adjectives and adverbs, sentence structure, and spelling. Each unit includes a pretest, rules, one or more exercises, a posttest, and an answer key. All materials included in the units have been developed with a view toward providing students with an organized, sequential program that contains clearly stated, measurable learning objectives and that provides students and teachers alike with tangible evidence of the learning that students have accomplished.
