Towards Mexico 1984: Preparing for the International Conference on Population, Mexico City, August 6-13, 1984 and Beyond. Summary Report of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities/Non-Governmental Organizations Consultation (3rd, New York, New York, March 13, 1984).
Katayama, Kumiko, Ed.
This summary report discusses how Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) can affect the outcome of the 1984 conference on population. The four issues that will appear on the agenda in Mexico City are: (1) fertility and the family; (2) migration and population distribution; (3) population, resources and the environment; and (4) mortality and morbidity. NGO's were encouraged to urge their own governments to send delegations headed by ministerial level leaders, including women, to Mexico. Biographical information on the speakers is provided at the conclusion of the report. (RM)
