Gender Differences in the Risk for Delinquency among Youth Exposed to Family Violence.
Herrera, Veronica M.; McCloskey, Laura Ann
Child Abuse & Neglect: The International Journal, v25 n8 p1037-51 Aug 2001
Children (N=299) who had been interviewed about abuse were followed up by a search of juvenile court records 5 years later. Although no gender differences in overall referral rates to juvenile court were found, boys were more likely to be referred for property, felony, and violent offenses. Exposure to marital violence in childhood predicted referral to juvenile court. (Author/DB)
