On Campus with a Disability: Expanding Diversity at AASCU Institutions.

This booklet describes how many institutions of higher education have mainstreamed disabled students more fully into campus life, and provides information to students who are disabled to help them find the college campus that fits their needs. Information is provided on institutional programs for the disabled among the youthful undergraduate population and also on opporunities for additional training and education for disabled adults who need them. The booklet, besides providing information on career planning and placement, also looks at how numerous educational institutions have dealt with facilities access, emergency evacuation, helping disabled students who also have learning disabilities, raising faculty and staff awareness, outreach to the community, recruitment/admission, sports, and the use of assistive technology. A complete list of AASCU member institutions and their addresses is provided. (GLR)
