Parameter Sensitivity Study of the Unreacted-Core Shrinking Model: A Computer Activity for Chemical Reaction Engineering Courses
Tudela, Ignacio; Bonete, Pedro; Fullana, Andres; Conesa, Juan Antonio
Journal of Chemical Education, v88 n1 p56-58 Jan 2011
The unreacted-core shrinking (UCS) model is employed to characterize fluid-particle reactions that are important in industry and research. An approach to understand the UCS model by numerical methods is presented, which helps the visualization of the influence of the variables that control the overall heterogeneous process. Use of this approach in a classroom helps students to understand the process. (Contains 3 figures.)
