The Indian Environmental Society, in association with the International Programme on Environmental Management Education, organized two seminars on World Environment Day and Environmental Impact Assessment during June 1980. A large number of papers on various aspects of environmental management were presented during the seminars. The papers addressed a wide range of issues including the environmental situations in India, social forestry, environmental impact assessment, problems of mining, and other various related problems.
