A Study of the Cross-Situational Stability of Three- to Five-Year-Old Children's Independence
Lizhu, Yang; Xiaoyan, Zou
International Journal of Early Years Education, v13 n2 p171-178 Jun 2005
In this research, based on a study of the independence of 67 three- to five-year-old children, two-factorial repeated-measure experiments were employed to help work out two results: (1) as an individual character trait, children's independence grows gradually, and (2) children's independence is changeable in different situations. The results support the view that young children's personality is initially formed during the pre-school period.
