The purpose of the study is to examine the attitude of the faculty members and the undergraduate students of the College of Education at Kuwait University toward Distance of Education. The study illustrates a comparison in the attitude between the two groups toward Distance Education. In addition, the study tries to find if there are significant differences between the faculty members and students who have direct experience with distance learning compared to those who do not. The dissertation is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, demonstrated by a questionnaire survey posted to the participants electronically. 48 faculty members out of 105 and 274 undergraduate students out of 5000 participated in the study. The survey contains six groups of questions, each discussing different factors that contribute to the quantitative analysis. These factors are: Attitudes toward the Use of Technology, Attitudes toward Culture and Social Factors, Attitudes toward the Economic Factor, Attitudes toward Location, Attitudes toward Policies and Attitudes toward Philosophical Educational and Academic Achievements Factors. These demonstrate the most important factors that affect the attitude towards distance learning. These factors are being examined in order to improve distance learning in the College of Education. The questionnaire ends with an open-ended essay question to provide a qualitative analysis. The results showed a high positive attitude toward the use of Distance Education, but students and faculty alike are unhappy with the current applications of this type of learning. After a discussion of these findings, the paper also addresses the results of the study and offers recommendations for improvements based on these findings.
