The "Recommendations for Institutional Prematriculation Immunizations" described in this article are provided to colleges and universities to facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive institutional prematriculation immunization policy. In response to changing epidemiology and the introduction of new vaccines, the American College Health Association (ACHA) Vaccine Preventable Diseases Committee monitors age-appropriate public health recommendations and updates this document accordingly. This document is intended as a guideline that is consistent with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations. Links to complete information regarding ACIP provisional and final comprehensive recommendations, including schedules, indications, precautions, and contraindications, are available at the CDC National Immunization Program website.
