An Ounce of Prevention: A Course for Blacks. Facilitator's Handbook.
National Center for Alcohol Education, Arlington, VA.
This kit was developed as part of a series called Decisions and Drinking, which focusses on intelligent decision-making about alcohol use based on knowledge and freedom of choice. Each kit in the series contains a facilitator handbook, session outline cards, a set of transparencies, participant work sheets, and "take-home" summaries for each group session. Instructions are very specific, thus enabling the facilitator to use the materials "as is." Included are provisions for the use of films designed to be shown with particular sessions, as well as feedback forms to be completed by both facilitator and participants. This kit is targeted to Blacks in the belief that an exploration of drinking decisions by Blacks must take place within the context of the fundamental importance of Black self-image in making any kind of life decision.
