This conference proceedings presents abstracts, complete papers, and author biographies for the 1994 Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (CALICO) annual symposium on human factors in computer-assisted language learning (CALL), specifically the actual use of software by the human learner and teacher. Presented topics included courseware, preconference workshop reports, and conference papers presented, including guest speaker papers. Papers addressed human factors as well as human-computer interactions. The Preconference Workshops included sessions on CALT, digital video and interactive video, WinCALIS Author 2.0, and computer-adaptive testing. The Courseware Fair included presentations on various ongoing CALL projects and programs. Presentations ranged from practical classroom applications to future research suggestions, including discussion of the information superhighway and computerized speech applications.
