This publication presents 10 documents collected to accompany a seminar entitled "What To Do When Contagious Disease Strikes Your School," presented at the 31st annual convention of the National Organization on Legal Problems of Education in 1985. The materials include (1) an agenda of the seminar listing the speakers, their topics, and the time schedule involved; (2) a bibliography of 21 materials on the topic; (3) a report by the Centers for Disease Control on the education and foster care of children infected with Human T-Lymphotropic Virus Type III/Lymphadenopathy-Associated Virus (HTLV-III/LAV), among whom are children with AIDS (Acquired Immume Deficiency Syndrome); (4) a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services publication entitled "Facts about AIDS"; (5) an article by several doctors entitled "Management of Young Children with Recurrent Herpes Simplex Skin Lesions in Special Education Programs"; (6) a discussion draft of a board of education policy for the education of children with communicable diseases; (7) the complaint of the plaintiffs in "Ryan White v. Western School Corp."; (8) the Indiana State Board of Health's 1985 guidelines concerning school attendance by children with AIDS or AIDS-Related Complex; (9) the defendant's answer in the case cited above; and (10) a report by the Board of Education of the City of New York entitled "AIDS: A Special Report on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome."
