Patterns of Runaway Behavior within a Larger Systems Context: The Road to Empowerment.
Miller, A. Therese; And Others
Adolescence, v25 n98 p271-89 Sum 1990
Examined Orten and Soll's typology and Homer's conceptualization of runaways as "running from" or "running to" something; expanded context to include interactions with family and professionals. Used case study and survey of nine adolescent runaways from residential setting to explore hypotheses. Found majority ran away from home because of family conflict; ran from care in reaction to rules. (Author/NB)
