Reflections on School Psychology and NASP
Fagan, Thomas K.
Communique, v37 n5 p1, 26-27 Feb 2009
Looking back over 40 years, much has changed and much has not changed in the field of school psychology and in the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). This article presents the author's opinions and recollections on school psychology and NASP which do not necessarily represent those of NASP or the many leaders with whom he has worked. Among all of NASP's accomplishments over 40 years, the evolution of its management stands tall. Here, the author stresses that NASP is among the greatest organizational success stories in professional psychology, and the founding of NASP is among the most important events in the history of psychologist's field. School psychology has to be among the most successful nondoctoral fields in psychology. (Contains 10 resources.)
