"U-X-L Encyclopedia of U. S. History" Hones Students' Subject Search and Indexing Skills

This article features the "U-X-L Encyclopedia of U.S. History" by Sonia Benson, Daniel E. Brannen, Jr., and Rebecca Valentine is a new eight-volume set available in print or ebook (2009). The set has 1,745 pages and 677 entries ranging from just under one page to around eight pages in length. The ebook option may be accessed through Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) alone or in combination with a range of additional titles as part of a school's Gale ebook subscriptions. This middle to high school level reference set can, therefore, meet the needs of a school's history curriculum. "The U-X-L Encyclopedia of U.S. History" is a sound reference source with factual accounts of historical topics. Coverage extends from the beginning of America through the present with a special focus on topics related to the historical and political development of the United States. Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain are all included, as the publication was prepared prior to the 2008 election. (Contains 6 figures.)
