Planning a Successful Tech Show
Nikirk, Martin
Tech Directions, v70 n8 p15-17 Mar 2011
Tech shows are a great way to introduce prospective students, parents, and local business and industry to a technology and engineering or career and technical education program. In addition to showcasing instructional programs, a tech show allows students to demonstrate their professionalism and skills, practice public presentations, and interact with business and industry professionals. Teachers and programs benefit by having a vehicle for showing the importance of their efforts to local economic development through well-trained students who can demonstrate current, relevant instruction. This article describes some of what Washington County Technical High School (WCTHS) does for its annual Tech Show and provides guidelines and scheduling tips that "Tech Directions" readers can use to present their own tech show.
