This book provides American Indian and Alaska Native students with sources for securing financial aid for higher education. The first section covers sources of funding and grants for individuals who are pursuing undergraduate degrees. This financial support includes scholarships with state residency requirements, general undergraduate scholarships, undergraduate scholarships for American Indians only, scholarships for students with specific majors, funding or grants to institutions for scholarships, research grants for summer school, and special services geared toward assisting minority students with entering higher education. The second section lists funding sources specifically targeted for graduate work. This section is broken down into fields of study including: (1) educational fields; (2) science, math, engineering, and architecture; (3) medicine, nursing, and occupational therapy; (4) sociology, psychology, library science, humanities, languages, career counseling, economics, history, and church related; (5) journalism, business management, consumer affairs, and communications; (6) graduate studies with no restrictions on field of study; and (7) miscellaneous graduate degrees. The last section covers funding available to American Indians and Alaska Natives under the Job Training Partnership Act. Each entry provides the name and address of the funding source along with amount of the scholarship and eligibility requirements. (LP)
