Leading Public Schools into the Future
Green, Erin
School Business Affairs, v77 n6 p20-21 Jun 2011
Educators should be expanding their knowledge of where curriculum is going (or where it needs to go) to give students a chance at success in an increasingly challenging world and to demonstrate the value of public education. Education is moving toward differentiated instruction to meet the varied interests, needs, talents, and aspirations of students. New technologies are making differentiation possible, and school business officials, as education leaders, can help educate policy makers and school boards on the importance of technology for differentiation. Now is the time to take the lead in the efforts to guide schools--and students--toward a brighter future. School business officials can lead their school systems in exploring new ways of delivering education to drive down costs while better preparing students for their future.
