Technology helps students develop coping strategies to deal with various learning differences. Assistive technology is a common intervention provided to students with disabilities and generally varies depending on student need. Within gifted education, the use of computers and technology is concentrated on curricular applications and activities that extend learning experiences of the students. The use of technology as applied to twice exceptional learners (students who are both gifted and have disabilities) should combine both purposes by enhancing remedial curriculum and also enriching aspects of learning. Twice exceptional students can benefit most from technology infusion that promotes skill building within stimulating and engaging environments, thus meeting their needs for challenge, remediation, or physical assistance.
