International Journal for Technology in Mathematics Education, v17 n4 p191-196 2010
We analyse the role of computers in teaching and learning calculus, in particular at determining the integrals of functions. It is well known that the use of mathematical packages has proved itself as a powerful tool in mathematical education, especially in view of its excellent visualisations of mathematical concepts. Unfortunately, there are a lot of new difficulties that might appear in this teaching process. The main emphasis in this paper is to mention a number of possible conflicts in student learning, and to suggest methods in overcoming them. (Contains 4 figures.)
