A Follow-Up Report: The Graduates, 1979 and 1980 [and] Class of 1980 by Program Areas.
DiCarlo, Robert D.
Surveys of both the 1979 and 1980 graduating classes at Greenfield Community College (GCC) were conducted during graduation rehearsals to gather a variety of information on their plans, experiences at GCC, and backgrounds. The survey instrument asked students to indicate: (1) the number of semesters they attended GCC; (2) their primary educational objectives; (3) their immediate future plans; (4) problems experienced in transferring credit; (5) their academic degree aspirations; (6) their perceptions of class scheduling and location; (7) influences on their college choice; (8) whether they would recommend their courses; (9) residence plans; (10) financial dependence on their parents and family income; (11) means of transportation; (12) the number of children in their family; (13) if they received financial aid; and (14) the educational background of their parents. The surveys achieved a 58% response rate from the 1979 class (N=345) and a 60% response rate from the 1980 class (N=369). The survey report compares the responses of both classes to each item on the questionnaire and provides background information on the school, its service area, and the manner in which the data would be used. A supplementary report analyzes the responses of the 1980 class in terms of their program area and provides a list of the employers and job titles of the employed 1980 graduates. (JP)
