Vicars, Dennis
Exchange: The Early Childhood Leaders' Magazine Since 1978, n207 p30-31 Sep-Oct 2012
A day in the life of anyone who works in or around a center-based early care and education program is one of numerous duties, timelines, staffing issues, program concerns, parent meetings, training, budget analysis, and teaching. The list is endless. Their days are filled with multiple priorities, all demanding their time and energy. It's so easy for them to get so wrapped up in their business that they forget to enjoy what early care and education is all about. No other profession has a greater opportunity to change the world. Then why are early these educators in such a hurry that they forget to take the time to enjoy the great programs that they've built or are attempting to build? The author comes up with some explanations and solutions that he hopes will help educators take the time to enjoy the miracles they make happen everyday.
