This booklet of teacher-developed and teacher-tested activities and strategies draws upon the curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics and social studies. Though prepared for fourth, fifth and sixth grade students, the material is adaptable for primary grades and can be used for group activities or as individual task cards. Activity sheets cover: consumer needs versus wants, choices and demands; four parts of production; prices, profits, sales tax, money, correct change, comparison shopping, unit price and multiple-priced items; food labels and storing food. Two pages of enrichment activities, a list of consumer-related vocabulary, consumer information resources with addresses and teacher resource materials are provided. (JW)
