This library handbook was designed to aid the student of philosophy. It lists reference materials basic to general research and gives their location in the Fogler Library at the University of Maine. Materials are listed in ten categories: (1) guides to the literature; (2) dictionaries and encyclopedias; (3) abstracts and indexes; (4) bibliographies; (5) biographies; (6) history of philosophy (general); (7) ancient philosophy; (8) medieval and Renaissance philosophy; (9) modern philosophy; and (10) philosophy journals.
