The Effects of Fluorescent and Incandescent Lighting on the Repetitive Behaviours of Autistic and Intellectually Handicapped Children.
Fenton, D. M.; Penney, R.
Australia and New Zealand Journal of Developmental Disabilities, v11 n3 p137-41 Sep 1985
Repetitive behaviors of five autistic and five intellectually disabled children were observed under both fluorescent and incandescent lighting conditions. Findings supported the hypothesis that autistic children engage in a significantly greater frequency of stereotypes under fluorescent lighting, while there is no significant difference among intellectually disabled children when exposed to different lighting conditions.
