Flow of Talent at Zhongguancun
Hansheng, Li; Ruixin, Kang
Chinese Education and Society, v37 n2 p23-28 Mar-Apr 2004
This article reports the flow of talent at Zhongguancun. Zhongguancun, with its many enterprise opportunities, high returns, and concentration of large corporations, is an ideal place for talent to seek employment, and the flow of talent here is more lively than in other regions. The talent flow rate in Zhongguancun is 20 percent, but the flow still goes, in the main, to Zhongguancun enterprises. In this article, the authors state that, foreign enterprises accept virtually no college students who have no work experience, so experience with working at a well-known enterprise at Zhongguancun has become a stepping stone for getting into foreign enterprises. The authors added, that the main reason for the characteristics displayed by the flow of Zhongguancun talent is that changes have taken place in people's concepts of job choice. Moreover, three kinds of factors affect people's concepts of job choice: social factors, organizational factors, and personal factors.
