Presents a chronologic review of the history and evolution of U.S. athletic training education as related to the professional growth of athletic training and the National Athletic Trainers' Association, reviewing activities of various committees, task forces, and Association members and tracing them over five decades. Early curriculum models and development of education programs in colleges and universities are discussed. (SM)
