Provided in this document is a bibliography of selected literature addressing the interface between forestry and the social sciences. References include articles and publications from American and foreign sources. A subject-matter classification scheme, in outline format, is provided at the beginning of the document. Entries (numbered 1214-2140) are listed alphabetically by author according to the topics indicated in this scheme. Major topic areas include social science applied to: (1) forestry at large (with consideration of forest resources, economic development and personnel factors); (2) forest management (including ownership options and labor considerations); (3) production of forest goods and services (covering aspects of tourism, wilderness management, fish and wildlife, and wood production); and (4) forest industries (relating to marketing, trade and transportation). Each entry includes citation number, author(s), title, source, year, number of pages and a code related to specific sections in the subject-matter classification scheme.
