Mechling, Linda C.; Gast, David L.; Gustafson, Melissa R.
Education and Training in Developmental Disabilities, v44 n1 p67-79 Mar 2009
This study evaluated the effectiveness of video modeling to teach fire extinguishing behaviors to three young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities. A multiple probe design across three fire extinguishing behaviors and replicated across three students was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the video-based program. Results indicate that video modeling was effective in teaching fire extinguishing skills. Skills were further generalized to novel examples and levels of performance were maintained up to 52 days.
