This manual is intended to help teachers, administrators, and local school boards develop and institute effective safety education as a part of all vocational instruction in the public schools of Idaho. This guide is organized in 13 sections that cover the following topics: introduction to safety education, legislation, levels of responsibility, liability, general safety rules, specific safety practices for using various equipment, safety check list, forms and accident reporting, posters, safety specifications for facilities, fire protection, protective gear, and specific vocational program safety information (for the program areas of home economics, business, and marketing). Appendixes to the guide provide a glossary of terms and a directory of safety resources. (KC)
