The 2007 Public Policy Agenda summarizes the American Association of State Colleges and Universities' (AASCU's) principles and priorities in key areas of higher education policy. The document is intended to serve as a point of reference for federal and state policymakers, the association's members, and other interested organizations and individuals. AASCU's advocacy efforts in 2007 will focus around the idea of Delivering America's Promise -- promoting public policy that honors long-standing commitments to the nation's students and their families. This document presents AASCU's federal and state public policy priorities in the areas of student financial aid; national security; tax policy; science and technology; teacher preparation, development, and support; access and inclusion; economic and workforce development; and governance and accountability.
