This collection of responses represents data collected by Who's Who Among American High School Students of Northbrook, Illinois in a 1978 nationwide survey of high school student leaders, a total of 21,500 students, 37% male and 63% female. Statistical analyses are presented in tabular form for each item, and sub-divided according to race, sex, type of community (urban, suburban, and rural) and region of the United States. The items reviewed in the survey address the following issues: (1) national priorities; (2) federal spending; (3) tax cuts and community services; (4) domestic and foreign policies; (5) education; (6) social issues; (7) environmental concerns; (8) career choices; (9) relationships with parents and peers; and (10) religious values.
