This teacher's manual presents a course outline for the second semester (270 hours) of a four-semester course in beauty culture. The syllabus is divided into nine sections and includes the following areas of instruction: the shop and the cosmetologist; scalp applications and shampooing; hair styling; hair cutting; manicuring and pedicuring; permanent waving; chemical relaxing; hair coloring; and facials. Each of these major divisions consists of one or more unit plans which cover objectives, lesson sequence and lesson plans, teacher preparation, teaching tips, student activities, and evaluation procedures. The remainder of the manual includes a suggested weekly plan book, forty-three handout sheets, sixteen tests with answer sheets, seventy-eight transparency masters, and a suggested evaluation and record system.
