Gender Differences in Depressive Symptomatology and Egocentrism in Adolescence.
Schonert-Reichl, Kimberly A.
Journal of Early Adolescence, v14 n1 p49-65 Feb 1994
This study examined the relationship between adolescent egocentrism and depressive symptomatology in Canadian adolescents. Major findings were adolescent females regard themselves higher in uniqueness and self-consciousness than adolescent males; social class relates significantly to adolescent egocentrism; and gender differences emerge with respect to the relationship between dimensions of adolescent egocentrism and depressive symptomatology.
