Software Reuse Success Strategy Model: An Empirical Study of Factors Involved in the Success of Software Reuse in Information System Development
Tran, Kiet T.
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, TUI University
This study examined the relationship between information technology (IT) governance and software reuse success. Software reuse has been mostly an IT problem but rarely a business one. Studies in software reuse are abundant; however, to date, none has a deep appreciation of IT governance. This study demonstrated that IT governance had a positive influence on software reuse success. In addition, IT strategy and the strategic decision-making process explained the relationship between IT governance and software reuse success. A sample of over 200 responses from IT professionals and business managers was used in this research. The analyses of data were accomplished using structural equation model (SEM) with AMOS. Furthermore, the study also examined the moderation effects of intention to adopt software reuse on the relationships between IT strategy and software reuse success and between strategic decision-making process and software reuse success. The moderation effect analysis was conducted using multigroup analysis in AMOS. Overall, the findings supported the causal and the mediation relationships between the theoretical constructs: IT governance, IT strategy, strategic decision-making process, and software reuse success. The moderation effects were not supported however. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC. Further reproduction is prohibited without permission.
