Attitudes Toward Old Age in Five Cultures.
Hunter, Kathleen; Linn, Margaret W.
Attitudes toward old age, death, and family as well as various demographic data were examined in five American cultures (Blacks, Cubans, American Indians, Chicanos, and Whites). Analysis of covariance showed that attitude toward death and most demographic variables did not account for differences in attitude toward old age, but that attitude toward family and presence of a husband in the household did have significant effect.
