Social Harmony and Macroregulation of the Funding System of Early Childhood Education
Yingqi, Cai
Chinese Education and Society, v41 n2 p20-32 Mar-Apr 2008
In today's steadily progressing economic transformation, and against the background of setting up a harmonious society and striving for a balanced educational development, a reform of the financing system for China's early childhood education is inevitable. However, this reform must be conducted within the framework of social and educational reforms as a whole. The reform should be scientifically expounded, carefully planned, comprehensively coordinated, and carried forward at a steady pace; it must respect public feelings and obtain widespread acknowledgment and support in society; it should proceed from outside to inside the system according to a proper time sequence. The government must increase financial input in early childhood education, as well as exercise macroregulation and control to uphold and promote its fairness.
