This report addresses the widely held view that currently available literature in toxicology is inadequate in that there is a need to identify manpower deficiencies in this field and to suggest means to correct these deficiencies. It contains a list of specific recommendations including the organization of a working group, sponsored by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, to discuss the design of model programs for teaching basic toxicology to physicians, scientists, and related specialists.
